A decision will be taken today on whether the United Kisan Morcha (SKM) will join the ongoing agitation on the Shambhu-Khanauri border or not. For this
the SKM will hold a meeting at 12 noon today at the Chandigarh Kisan Bhawan. The agitators and SKM leaders will participate in this meeting. Earlier, the SKM meeting was held on December 21.
On December 21, a meeting of the leaders of the organizations involved in the United Kisan Morcha and the leaders of the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha was held at Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib in Patiala, in which 6 members of the United Kisan Morcha participated. Addressing after the meeting, the farmer leaders said that today’s meeting was held in a pleasant atmosphere and the final decision will be taken after both the forums hold their own meetings.
The leaders said that in today’s meeting, there was an open discussion about the new agricultural draft and how to intensify the ongoing struggle on the Sambhu and Khanori borders. Earlier, in the SKM meeting held in Chandigarh on December 8, it was decided that the Morcha would not directly participate in this movement.
