Tata Chemicals, 3M India, Patanjali Foods shares spurt amid spike in volumes; check full list

The Indian equity benchmarks held on to gains in noon deals on Wednesday, September 16, powered by gains in index heavyweights like Reliance Industries, Axis Bank, State Bank of India, Mahindra & Mahindra, ITC, Hindustan Unilever and Kotak Mahindra Bank.

As of 12:00 pm, the SENSEX was up 318 points at 74,322 and NIFTY50 index advanced 108 points to 23,225.

Here are shares spurting amid spike in volumes:

Tata Chemicals: Shares of the country’s leading soda ash maker rose for a second straight session. The stock rose as much as 7.22% on top of yesterday’s 20% gain.

Trading volume in the stock jumped by 22 times to 1.64 crore shares compared with an average volume of 7.56 lakh shares on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

As many as 11.56 lakh shares changed hands on the BSE compared with an average of 36,000 shares traded daily in the past two weeks.

3M India: Shares of the country’s leading wide range of industrial, safety, healthcare, and consumer products maker advanced as much as 6% to an intraday high of ₹33,500 per share amid spike in trading activity.

Trading volume on the NSE jumped by 12 times to 20,707 shares compared with its average trading volume of 1,706 shares.

Patanjali Foods: Shares of edible oil maker advanced 6.53% to an intraday high of ₹360 after the company informed exchanges that ill be participating in an investor conference on September 18 with Jefferies at Gurugram.

Trading volume in the stock jumped 7.1 times 1.14 crore shares compared with an average volume of 16.10 lakh shares on the NSE.

On the BSE, a total of 4.2 lakh shares changed hands compared with its two-week average of 1.31 lakh shares.

Dr Lal Path Labs: Shares of the pathological lab operator declined 1.7% to an intraday low of ₹1,872.85 amid spike in trading activity.

Trading volume jumped by seven times to 12 lakh shares compared with an average volume of 1.71 lakh shares.

On the BSE, 61,000 shares were traded compared with its two week average of 6,182 shares.

Billionbrains Garage Ventures: Shares of the parent of brokerage firm Groww declined as much as 4.65% to an intraday low of ₹188.35 amid reports that 10.41 crore shares, or 1.69% of the company’s equity, worth ₹1,999 crore, changed hands at ₹192 apiece through block deals.

rading volume on the NSE spiked by 5.6 times to 13.10 crore shares compared with an average volume of 2.34 crore shares.

42 lakh shares changed hands on the BSE compared with an average of 17.56 lakh shares traded daily in the past two weeks.
