Shiromani Akali Dal to Take Door-to-Door Campaign to Every Village and Household: Kaler, Dalla

Jagraon, October 5 (Pushminder Singh Dalla): The Shiromani Akali Dal will launch a village-to-village and door-to-door campaign in Jagraon constituency to intensify party activities and strengthen its organisational structure up to the booth level. The decision was taken during a meeting of party office-bearers, workers and prominent leaders held at the party office in Jagraon under the leadership of Core Committee member, former MLA and constituency in-charge S.R. Kaler. Discussions were held on preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections, strengthening the organisation at the booth level, assigning duties to workers and the party’s forthcoming programmes.

S.R. Kaler said that under the door-to-door campaign, party workers would establish direct contact with people, listen to their problems and discuss development works carried out during previous Akali governments as well as the present situation. He said the party’s objective was to maintain continuous contact with the people and further strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level. District president Chand Singh Dalla said that the real strength of the party lies in its workers. He said continuous efforts were being made to activate the organisation from the village level to the booth level.

Former chairman Didar Singh Malak conducted the proceedings and urged workers to actively participate in party activities. Circle president Parminder Singh Cheema, Mandeep Singh Galib, Sarpanch Shivraj Singh, Councillor Davinderjit Singh Sidhu and constituency women’s wing president Bibi Satpal Kaur Leela also shared their views. The leaders said that efforts would be made to increase contact with workers at every booth in Jagraon constituency and raise local public issues on a priority basis. Party office-bearers, workers and prominent residents from various villages also shared their views during the meeting. The leaders said that organisational and public outreach activities of the party would be further intensified in Jagraon constituency in the coming days.
