A BJP leader and former union minister Swami Chimhananand has been arrested on charges of sexual exploitation. They have been arrested by the SIT and UP police from their home in Shahjahanpur, UP. The SIT was constituted on the orders of the Supreme Court, which was investigating the matter.
Earlier, SIT Chief Naveen Arora had said that the Chimthanand case was being investigated in an impartial manner and there was no pressure on the team. He said that people should not share videos related to this case on social media.
Recently a student accused of raping Chimthananda had said that if Chimthanand was not arrested soon, she would have committed suicide. Let us say that a student studying law at a college in Shahjahanpur claimed that Swami Chimhananda had exploited him. The student recently gave SIT a 64 GB PAN drive that contains more than 40 videos.
